PNG files are lossless and do not shrink with quality. For a much smaller file, save PNG images as WebP or JPG, or set a maximum width.

How to compress an image to 100KB

  1. Click the box above, or drag your images into it.
  2. Each image is reduced to under 100 KB automatically. You can type another size in the box if you need a different limit.
  3. Download each image, or use the ZIP button to get them all at once.

Why 100 KB?

Many online forms, application portals and email systems only accept small files, and 100 KB is a common limit. This tool lowers the picture quality first, and only then makes the picture itself smaller, until the file fits. An image that is already under 100 KB is returned unchanged.

Questions

Will my image still look good at 100 KB?

Most photos look fine. Very large pictures, such as a full-size phone photo, have to be made smaller to fit, so fine text in them may become less sharp. Setting a maximum width yourself, for example 1200 pixels, gives you control over this.

What if I need 50 KB, 200 KB or another size?

Type the size you need in the box. The images already in the list are redone automatically.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The compression happens inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your images are never sent to our server or to anyone else.

What if the size I asked for is too small to reach?

You get the smallest result the tool could make, and the list tells you it could not reach the size you asked for.

How are PNG images handled?

PNG has no quality setting, so a PNG can only be made smaller by reducing its dimensions. For a much better result, choose "WebP" or "JPG" in the "Save as" box. Note that JPG turns transparent areas white.
